JAMMU, Oct 4: Anubhav Bhagat from district Doda claimed gold in U-19 boys .177 Air Rifle 10m event of the Divisional Level Inter District Competitions in the discipline of Shooting for boys Under-17 and Under-19 years, which got underway at Shooting Range, Delhi Public School, here today.
Gurasheshpal Singh of District Jammu bagged silver in this category, while Sahil from District Udhampur claimed bronze.
Meanwhile, in Under-17 boys, Parush of District Udhampur bagged gold, while Parthik of District Samba bagged silver and the bronze medal went to Pranav Singh of Samba.
23 shooters drawn from the districts of Reasi, Samba, Jammu, Udhampur and Doda are competing in the event.
As a part of Annual Calendar of activities of the department the competitions are being organized under the overall supervision of Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
Sudershan Sonar, Principal DPS Public School was the chief guest in the inaugural ceremony and declared the tournament open in an impressive function.
Earlier, Ashok Kumar visited the venue and took stock of the arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sarita Pandha, Jaswant Singh, Rakesh Kakkar, Veena Tickoo, Jasbir Singh, Rajesh Sambyal, Rattan Lal, B K Tickoo, Vishal Bharti, Sadiq Hussain Malik and Vikrant Singh.
