JAMMU, May 21: Riding on magnificent unbeaten 96 runs by Anil and brilliant half century (51) by Rohit, Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club (SKCC) defeated Sri Cricket Club (SCC) by 4 wickets in a high scoring match of the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket League, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Sri Cricket Club scored a mammoth total of 208 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Chitwan top scored with superb 75 runs, while Rahul contributed 66 runs to the total. For SKCC, Pankaj took 4 important wickets, while Anmol claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, SKCC chased the target in 19 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Anil and Rohit were in murderous mood and made a partnership of over 100 runs to take their side to home. Both the batsmen played power-packed knocks, hitting the ball with fluidity and grace. Vivek Suri also chipped in with unbeaten 11 runs, hitting one six and one four. Mehran took 3 wickets for SCC, while Hitesh claimed 2. Anil of SKCC was adjudged as the man of the match.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of retired Judge Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal, while the Organizing Committee includes Rajesh Gill, Rajesh Dhar, Vijay Saberwal, Vijay Sharma, Harsh Nayyar and Sachin Singh.
The match was officiated by Ashok and Sanju as umpires, while Saleem-ur-Rehman was the scorer.
