JAMMU, July 15: Angels Club boys defeated Angels Club girls by 95 runs in a friendly match, organized by the Club with an aim to give match exposure to the budding cricketers at Government College for Women (GCW) Parade Grounds, here today.
Earlier, batting first, Angels Club boys scored a mammoth total of 204 runs in 29 overs. Aman was the top scorer with 49 runs off 47 balls, studded with 4 fours and one six, while Ankit contributed valuable 39* runs to the total. Anmol and Nitish also chipped in with 17 and 11 runs each. For Angels Club girls, Sapna Jamwal took 3 wickets, Sunita bagged 2, while Isha, Meenu, Samdeep and Nadia claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Angels Club girls bundled out for 109 runs and lost the match by 95 runs. Sunita Devi was the top scorer with 21 runs off 15 balls, while Abha Khullar contributed 14 runs in 8 balls. No other batswoman managed to cross the double figure mark. Ankit and Nitish scalped 3 wickets each for Angels Club boys, while Nikhil bagged 2. Rakesh and Pranav claimed 1 wicket each.
