Amir wins Gold, Bronze at WSPS World Cup 2025

JAMMU, Oct 30: Jammu and Kashmir’s pride and son of the soil, Para Olympian Subedar Amir Ahmad Bhat, serving in the Indian Army, has once again brought laurels to the nation by winning two medals at the prestigious World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) World Cup 2025, held at Al Ain, UAE from October 25 to November 2.
Displaying remarkable composure, accuracy and determination, Subedar Amir clinched the Gold Medal in the 25m Sport Pistol Mixed Individual event and the Bronze Medal in the 10m Standard Pistol Mixed Individual category. His exceptional performance at the global event has further strengthened India’s position in international shooting sports.
Earlier this year, Subedar Amir had showcased his consistency and world-class shooting skills by bagging two Gold Medals and one Silver Medal at the WSPS World Cup Changwon 2025, once again proving his dominance on the world stage.
Amir has been trained under the expert mentorship of Subedar Major Rajesh Kumar from Bishnah, Jammu, who has played a pivotal role in shaping his journey and honing his competitive edge. Their partnership reflects the discipline, perseverance and commitment nurtured within the Indian Army’s sporting ecosystem.
