DODA, May 12: The 11th edition of All India Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket tournament was inaugurated at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament is jointly being organized by Delta Force based at Doda and Young Star Cricket Club, Doda.
According to the organizers 64 teams from all over India and one team from Bangladesh will be participating in the event.
Bhupinder Kumar, DC Doda inaugurated the tournament in presence of Army officials and senior citizens, which was followed by the inaugural league match. The matches will continue till June 11, 2015.
The tournament is being organized to promote sports in the remote region of Doda district.
Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of Delta Force based at Doda provided all essential administrative support to organize the tournament alongwith Young Star Cricket Club, Doda.
The event draws overwhelming response from the public of Doda and the people appreciated the efforts of Young Star Cricket Club and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of Delta Force for promoting sports in the district.
