Alishba inaugurates Range Level Sports Festival

UDHAMPUR, Feb 15: Taking forward the community policing initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Range Police Udhampur-Reasi organized Range Level Sports Festival, under Civic Action Programme which was declared open by Alishba Tak daughter of Martyr SI Imran Tak at District Police Lines, here.
The Festival was inaugurated in presence of Rayees Mohd Bhat, SSP Udhampur, Faisel Qureshi, Additional SP,  Kameshwar Puri, DySP HQ and Ramesh Panotra, DySP ADO RPHQ Udhampur Reasi Range, besides other officers.
Speaking on the occasion, the SSP remembered the supreme sacrifices by Martyr SI Imran Tak in the service of nation.
He also laid stress on the importance of sports activities in the life of a person especially youth.
He said sports apart from keeping youth fit and healthy, also keeps them away from evils like drugs addiction, militancy and separatism.
About 125 youth are taking part in the event.
As many as 23 technical officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports will remain engaged in officiating these matches along with cooperation from the Education Department.
A T-20 Cricket Match was organized on the occasion of inaugural function between Braham Rishi Bawra Shanti Peeth and Higher Secondary School Ramnagar which was won by Higher Secondary School Ramnagar by 5 wickets.
