Alankrita tops World Chess Rating among children

JAMMU, Dec 10: Alankrita Sharma-daughter of KAS Officer, Poonam Makhnotra and Mohinder Sharma-a Government School Principal has topped the World Chess Federation’s Rating list among children below six years old.
She achieved this rating in European style Round Robin FIDE Rating Chess Championship conducted by Jammu District Chess Association under the aegis of All J&K Chess Association at IDPS School, Sunjwan Jammu in the month of November.
On being acquired top rating, Atual Kumar Gupta, president All J&K Chess Association honoured Alankrita Sharma and her family members for this great achievement in the presence of secretary AJKCA Arshid Ahmad Kolu, secretary JDCA Meenal Gupta and members of the Association.
Atul Kumar Gupta praised her coach FIDE instructed Ajit Singh for taking so much pain in training the young girl for the last two years and also her parents for giving great support and motivation to the little kid.
Meanwhile, All J&K Chess Association with the support of J&K Sports Council is also going to organize a National under-10 boys and girl’s event at Jammu in April-2022 for providing a platform to young players.
