Akhnoor students return from National Integration Tour

JAMMU, Feb 14: A National Integration Tour was organized by Crossed Swords Division, Akhnoor from February 3 to February 14, 2016.
The tour was flagged off from Military Station Rakhmuthi on February 3, 2016. Crossed Swords Division reiterated the commitment of Division towards upliftment of local populace for overall development of the region. The tour was organized for 22 students, 3 teachers and was accompanied by one officer, one JCO and two other Army personnel.
The tour traversed a distance of 934 Kms covering Jalandhar, Delhi and Jaipur. The students were very enthusiastic about their visit to the National Capital. During their stay at Delhi, they visited Red Fort, Tara Mandal, Jama-Masjid, Connaught Palace, Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate, Chandani Chowk, Qutub Minar, Pragati Maidan, Jawahar Lal Nehru Auditorium, Dhaula Kuan and witnessed  Change of guard at Raisina Hills.
In their next halt in the colourful city of Jaipur, the children visited Nahargadh Fort, Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, Chauki Bandi and Raj Mandir Cinema. They were impressed by the rich and vibrant culture of Rajasthan. On their way back, the tour halted at Jalandhar before returning to Rakhmuthi.
The tour was ‘flagged in’ on February 14, 2016 at Rakhmuthi by GOC Crossed Swords Division. The GOC complimented the students on the successful completion of the tour and urged all parents to motivate their children to participate in such endeavours by the Army which provide such rich exposure to the young impressionable minds.
