JAMMU, May 9: Inter Zonal and School Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports held in various districts.
JAMMU: The Inter Zonal District Level Competitions for Under-14 and 17 boys in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball wrestling and cricket concluded today at Government Higher Secondary School, Domana.
In Under-14 volleyball final, Marh beat Miran Sahib by 2-0 sets and lifted the title trophy, whereas in Under-17 category final, Miran Sahib defeated beat Jourian by 3-2 sets. Harpreet, Parvinder and Rajesh were the best scorer.
In Under-14 kabaddi final, Akhnoor beat Dansal by 31-30 points, whereas in Under-17 category, Jammu registered win over Satwari by 43-23 points. Sunny and Shakir were the best scorer.
In Under-14 and Under-17 kho-kho final, Bhalwal crushed Akhnoor.
In Under-14 wrestling, Harish of MHAC Nagbani and Rishav Kumar of GGHS Sohanjana claimed first and second positions in Under – 32 kg category, whereas in Under 35 kg category, Amit Kumar of GGHS Sohanjana and Imitiaz of GMC Sitni Bye-Pass secured first and second positions, in under 38kg category, Mohammad Asif of GMS Sitni Bye-Pass secured first position and Liyaqat Ali of Miran Sahib bagged second position.
In Under 41kg category, Guljeet Singh of GHS Kothi Tanda Akhnoor and Vishal Kumar of Marh Zone bagged first and second positions respectively, in under 45 kg category, Amresh Kumar of GHS Kangrail claimed first position and Abhay Chobber of Marh Zone secured second position, in under 50 kg category, Rohit Bansa of Marh Zone and Raghav Singh of St John Convent School secured first and second positions respectively, whereas in under 55 kg category Raj Kumar of Marh Zone and Daler Khan of GHS Agore bagged first and second positions respectively.
In Under-14 cricket, Marh beat Jourian by 6 wickets, Jammu defeated Bhalwal by 10 runs and Gandhi Nagar smashed Satwari by 12 runs.
SAMBA: The Inter Zonal Level Tournament for Under-14 and 17 girls concluded.
In Under-14 kho-kho final, NV Dhalote smashed Girls Middle School Garh Mandi, whereas in Under-17 final, NV Dhalote crushed CMP Nud.
In Under-14 kabaddi final, GMS Penti smashed MI Sumb, whereas in under-17 final, NV Dhalote thrashed GHS Sumb.
In Under-17 volleyball final, GHS Sarna lost to GHS Bainglar by straight 2-0 sets. Arti Devi from GHS Sarna was declared the best smasher of the tournament.
REASI: Two days Inter Zonal Level Competitions in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling for Under-14 and 16 boys and girls commenced at Zorawar Sports Stadium, which was inaugurated by Principal Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi, PD Sharma. Headmaster GHS Ghair Mari Harish Kumar Sharma was the special guest on the occasion.
In Under-14 kho-kho final, Amba Kids Home Panthal beat Heritage Public School Reasi, while in Under-14 kabaddi, GMS Talwara registered win over Amba Kids Home Panthal.
In under-14 volleyball, GHS Kambal Danga smashed Amba Kids Home Panthal, whereas in Under-17 category, GHS Kambal Danga defeated GHS Kanjali.
In Under-14 wrestling, Kuldeep Singh, Surjeet Singh and Shoib Sharma were the winners, whereas in Under-17 category, Sahil Sharma, Atul Sharma, Madan Singh, Javaid Ahmed and Yuvraj Singh emerged winners.
KATHUA: Inter School District Level Tournament for Under 14 and 17 boys and girls in the discipline of chess, table tennis and badminton commenced at DAV Lachhipur.
Sampada of Mount Litra School Kathua defeated Anushika of KV Hiranagar in Under-14 table tennis (girls), whereas in under-17 category, Adity Sharma of DAV trounced Bandhna.
In Under-14 chess (girls), Ananya of DAV defeated Neha, whereas in Under-17 category, Sonia of GHSS Parole defeated Pooja.
In Under-14 badminton (girls), Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar lifted the trophy.
Earlier, Inter School Competitions in the discipline of volleyball for Under-14 boys held at GHSS Bani, wherein GHS Tapper trounced GMS Souja by 3-0 sets.
UDHAMPUR: Inter Zonal Level Athletic Meet for Under-14 and 17 boys of Tikri Zone got underway at Government Higher Secondary School, Tikri. The meet was inaugurated by Kamla Kumari, Principal, GHSS Tikri.
In Under-14 race (100 meters), Bishav Sharma of GHS Chiryai, Manzoor Hussain of GHS Mand and Sourav of RK Public School, Seen Bharmana claimed first, second and third positions, whereas in Under-14 category, Nishant of RK Public School, Seen Bharmana Narindar Kumar of GHS Seen Bharmana and Gautam Singh of GHSS Tikri emerged winners.
In Under-14 boys race (200 meters), Shakti Kumar of GMS Mand, Parvez of GHS Chiryai and Sunil Kumar of RK Public School Seen Bharmana emerged winners, whereas Romit Sharma of GHS Seen Bharmana, Abhishek of GHSS Tikri and Akhil of GHS Kotli Jijjn claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-14 high jump (boys), Jeevan of GHS Mand and Vishal of GMS Mora Jujjaran emerged winners, whereas in Under-17 category, Mohammad Arif of GHS Mand, Abhishek of GHSS Tikri and Sandeep Singh of GHS Kotli Jijjn claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In Under-14 long jump (boys), Vikram Singh of GMS Tikri, Rakesh Kumar of GHS Mand and Amit Kumar of GHS Seen Bharmana emerged winners, whereas in Under-17 category, Nishant of RK Public School, Seen Bharmana, Mohammad Tariq of GHS Chiryai and Pritam of GHS Mand secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In Under-14 shotput (boys), Neeraj of RK Public School, Tanish of GMS Mora Gujjaran and Manzoor of GHS Mand secured first three positions, whereas in Under-17 category, Romit Sharma of GHS Seen Bharmana, Pritam of GHS Mand and Yash Paul of GHS Chiryai claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
RAJOURI: Two days Inter School Tourney for Under-14 boys at Sunderbani in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling. SDM Sunderbani Kartar Singh inaugurated the tournament in the presence of DYSS officials and Principal Government BHSS Sunderbani, OP Sharma.
In kho-kho, GMS Laman defeated GMS Mawa, whereas in kabbadi, GMS Laman defeated GMS Suffa. In volleyball, GMS Sarmoli smashed GMS Upper Hathal and in wrestling, GMS Laman emerged winner.
