JAMMU, Jan 8: Akash’s half century and Ajay’s 3 wickets haul guided Northern Cricket Club Jammu to outplay Pt Prem Nath Dogra Cricket Club Jammu by 2 wickets and entered into the semis of the ongoing Shaheed Lieutenant Thakur Dass Memorials Cricket Tournament, being played by Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor.
Batting first after winning the toss, Pt Prem Nath Dogra Club scored 164 runs by losing 8 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Ankush played a splendid inning of 96 runs off 59 balls, while Akshay made 26 runs in 18 balls and Satinder scored 15 runs in 10 balls.
From Northern Cricket Club side, Ajay scalped 3 wickets, while Sachin took 2 wickets. Akash and Ankush shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Northern Cricket Club chased the target in 18.2 overs by losing 8 wickets. Akash played a magnificent inning of 57 runs off 31 balls, while Lakhan scored 38 runs in 21 balls and Sumit chipped in 28 runs in 20 balls.
From Pt Prem Nath Dogra Club side, Taneez took 3 wickets, while Satinder, Vishal, Vansh and Rishav shared 1 wicket each.
Akash of Northern Cricket Club Jammu was declared as Man of the Match.
The match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Rohit and Arjun maintained the scoreboard.
In the match, Advocate Vishnu Kant Sharma Chairman Shaheed Lt Thakur Dass Memorial Cricket Tournament was the chief guest.
The Tournament is being organized By Akhnoor Sports Club under the supervision SS Langeh General Secretary District Jammu JKCA.
