Air Force Station Jammu to conduct Cycle Expedition

JAMMU, Sept 11: A Cycle Expedition will be conducted by Air Force Station Jammu from September 14, 2015 to September 22, 2015 from Air Force Station Jammu to Doda and back to mark the Commemoration of Golden Jubilee of 1965 War.
The total distance which will be covered by the Expedition team would be around 600 Kilometers.
The aim of the event is team building amongst air warriors and taking Air Force to the masses for spreading awareness amongst the local people, about the role and modes of entry into Indian Air Force. The team will visit schools en-route to spread awareness and encourage young men and woman to join this glorious service.
A curtain raiser for this event was held in Air Force Station Satwari, today.
Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal , Air Officer Commanding addressed the media and emphasized about the significance of commemorating the 1965 war.
He said, the Expedition is a tribute to veterans and a motivation to current generation and reiterated that Indian Air Force will always be the harbinger of the nation’s security and Air Force Station Jammu is ready to face any challenges thrust upon it.
He further said that the Expedition will be consisting of around 25 personnel including four Lady Officers and will be flagged off on September 14 at 7 am from Air Force Station, Jammu.
