Air Force School celebrates Annual Day

JAMMU, May 6: Air Force School, Jammu celebrated its Annual Day with pomp and show in General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, here today.
Captain Bana Singh, Param Veer Chakra was the chief guest on the occasion, while Air Commodore P E Patange, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Jammu was the guest of honour.
Mamta Patange, president Air Force Wives Welfare Association was also present on the occasion.
The programme began by the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by the annual report presented by Vikesh Sandhal, Principal of the School. The achievements of the school in academics, board results, co-curricular activities and sports in the session 2013-14 were highlighted.
The highlight of the achievements was Rajdeep Nandi, student of Class 12, who secured State Rank one in English Olympiad.
The cultural programme began by the melodious singing of the Air Force School song ‘Badlege Yug Ko’ composed by the Music maestro A R Rehman especially for Air Force Schools. This was followed by Shiv Strotam-a tribute to the divine Lord.
Remix dance by small kids held everyone captive. The mime on the theme of water conservation was a real eye opener. The dogri dance acquainted every one with the rich Dogra culture. The Kalbailia dance and the Bhangra were highly appreciated by the audience.
Scholastic and non scholastic prize distribution was carried out to felicitate the winners. The students of the year awards were bagged by Aakriti Sharma and Shubham Aggarwal.
