JAMMU, Sept 3: Adhirath Kesar of MIET won gold in Sabre boys’ event in the Inter-Collegiate Fencing (M&W) Fencing Championship, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education at University of Jammu, here.
The silver and bronze medals in this event went to Dushyant Magotra of MIET and Mirza Zabir Beg of MAM College respectively. Mohd. Muzamal (GDC Paloura) also won bronze medal.
In Foil boys individual, Dushyant Magotra (MIET) clinched gold, Chahat Singh (GDC Udhampur) won silver and the bronze medals went to Pankaj Sharma (MAM College) and Abhinav (PG Deptt. JU)
In Foil girls individual, the gold medal was bagged by Shreya Chib (GCW Parade), silver to Rupali Sharma (MIET), while the bronze medals were shared by Mokshi Sharma (GCW Parade) and Surbhi Antahal PG Deptt JU).
Present o the occasion were Narayani Jamwal, Sumnesh Sharma and Suman Lata, Physical Directors of GDC Paloura, GWC Gandhi Nagar and GCW Parade respectively.
The matches were officiated by Chotu Lal, Rachna Jamwal, Ujjwal Gupta, Pritam Singh Slathia, Maninderpal Singh and PD. Singh (Incharge Tournament).
The valedictory function of the Championships will be held tomorrow at 11.30 a.m. at the same venue.
All the matches were played under the supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
