ADGP Jammu inaugurates 2-day Badminton Tournament

JAMMU, June 8: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, inaugurated a two-day Badminton Tournament at JK Police Badminton Hall, here today.
The tournament, which features doubles matches for boys and girls under the age of 15, is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police under the Civic Action Programme. The event is themed “Say No to Drugs & Yes to Beautiful Life,” aiming to promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyle among the youth. The tournament will provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents and engage in positive recreational activities.
In his inaugural address, ADGP Jammu Anand Jain highlighted the importance of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle. He emphasized the J&K Police’s commitment to nurturing young talent and steering them away from the dangers of drug abuse.
“This tournament is a step towards encouraging our youth to embrace sports and the beautiful life it brings. It is our mission to provide avenues that keep our young generation active, engaged, and free from harmful substances,” said the ADGP.
The tournament has attracted enthusiastic participation from young players across the region, with several matches scheduled over the two days. The event promises to be a showcase of budding talent and a testament to the community’s collective efforts in promoting a drug-free society.
Total 94 participants (72 boys and 22 girls) were registered for the tournament from all districts of the Jammu Zone.
