ADC inaugurates T20 Open Cricket C’ship

BANDIPORA, Aug 8: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Waseem Raja inaugurated 4th T20 Open Cricket Championship 2022 at SK Stadium, here today.
The championship is being organised by Hashmee Cricket Club Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora and District Election Office Bandipora. The championship 2022 is powered by Ali’s Sports Academy Bandipora and is supported by Bandipora Cricket Initiative.
The inaugural match was played between Rising Star Budgam and Hamdan Hurricane Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Padmashree Faisal Ali Dar said that 64 teams across Kashmir are participating in the knockout championship. He said organisers have arranged all the required facilities in collaboration with District administration to run the championship smoothly and to involve youth in sports activities.
Interacting with players and spectators, the ADC complimented organisers for showing sports spirit and involving youth in sports activities. He said District administration is conducting various activities under SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program) and this is also part of awareness under SVEEP to aware youth regarding voting rights.
He also highlighted the importance of the electoral process and participation of every eligible citizen in strengthening the democracy in the country.
Waseem Raja urged the youth to participate in sports and athletic activities apart from pursuing their academics for their physical and mental health and said that such an event will help to keep the young generation away from drugs, social evils and inculcate the spirit and love among the youth.
