SRINAGAR, May 17: The All Age Group (AAG) Boys Football Tournament commenced at KNS Playfield, Radapora, here today.
The Tournament was officially inaugurated by Zonal Physical Education Office (ZPEO), Rainawari, Muzamil Ahmad Dar. He was accompanied by his field staff.
A total of 180 boys under the age of 14 years from Government and private institutions participated on the first day of the tournament, showcasing their football talent and sportsmanship.
Before the matches commenced, all participants took a pledge against drug abuse, promoting the message: “Play sports, stay away from drugs.” This initiative aims to raise awareness among youth about the importance of a healthy and drug-free lifestyle through active participation in sports.
The top performers of the tournament will earn a chance to represent their zone in the upcoming Inter-Zone District Level Football Tournaments, providing them with broader exposure and competitive opportunities.
The Tournament is being organized by ZPEO Rainawari under the aegis of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Kashmir, reaffirming its commitment to youth development through sports.
