JAMMU, Apr 14: Organised by Climrate Football Club, the Ist Arun Sharma Memorial (Open) Football Cup Tournament will take place from April 16, 2019 at Mini Stadium, Parade, here.
In the opening match, Sports Saviours FC will take on Sainik Colony Football Club at 3.30 pm, to be followed by the second match at 5 pm.
“In all, 14 top teams of the state, divided into two groups, are taking part in this week-long competition on knock-out basis,” disclosed president of the Climrate Football Club, Ashutosh Sharma.
Earlier, the organising committee held a meeting of the participating teams and those technical officials to finalise the fixture and other technical aspects of the competition.
“Arun Sharma was a known footballer of the state, who later produced world class Handball players from Jammu and Kashmir. He retired as Divisional Sports Officer from the J&K State Sports Council,” informed general secretary of the Club, Rakesh Khanna.
Other participating teams are J&K Bank Academy, NGR Club, Param FC, Hero Club, SFA, Jammu United, Vijay Club, Shaheen FC, Climrate Club, Churchill Brothers, J&K Police and Young Rovers.
