JAMMU, Dec 23: Eight day long Inter Zone Sports Meet-2017 organized by J&K Police concluded today at Gulshan Ground, here.
Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, J&K who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed the prizes among the winners of different competitions.
The participants including Gazetted Officers took part in various events like Basketball, Volleyball, Tug off War, Boxing, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Wushu, Football, Handball, Kabaddi, Hockey, Shooting, Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Shooting (Pistol/Glock).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nrmal Singh lavished praise on the winners for producing splendid performances.
In his welcome address, ADGP Armed, AK Choudhary said about 800 Police Personnel including GO’s/women from six zones of J&K Police viz, Armed Zone, Intel-sect zone, SDRF HG/CD/ Kashmir Zone /Training zone and Jammu zone participated in the sports meet.
He also gave resume of the sports activities of the police during the year.
