GDC Akhnoor, GCW Parade win Inter-Collegiate Kho-Kho titles

JAMMU, Sept 7: Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor and Government College for Women (GCW) Parade lifted title trophies of Inter-Collegiate Kho-Kho Championship, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at Varsity ground, here today.
In men’s section, GDC Akhnoor defeated GDC Samba by 1 point (10-09), while in women’s section, GCW Parade got the better of GDC Kathua by 6 points (09-03).
The match officials included Dheeraj Sharma, Anil Kumar, Jagdev Singh, Palbinder Singh, Kamaljeet Kou and Gagan Kumar.
Meanwhile, PG Department  and  Govt SPMR College  of  Commerce entered  into  the  finals of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Handball (Men) 2017-18 Championship, being organized  by  the  Directorate of  Sports &  Physical Education, University of  Jammu at its Sports Stadium.
Earlier, in the 1st semifinal, Govt SPMR College of Commerce beat MAM College in a close contest by 2 goals with final score on the board reading 16-14.
In the second semifinal, PG Department outplayed GGM Science College by 15-09 goals.
The  matches  were  conducted  under  the  supervision  of  Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of  Sports and Physical Education, University of  Jammu.
The matches were officiated by Gourav Sharma, Amit Sharma, Priya Devi, Vishal and  others among Mahesh Sharma, Balbir Singh Chib, Shafkat Jahangir and Vikas Karlopia were also present at the venue.
In women’s section of Inter-Collegiate Badminton Championship, GCW Gandhi Nagar will face ASCOMS in summit clash, while in men’s section,  GCW Udhampur, GDC Kathua, MAM College and PG Department sealed berth in the semifinals.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Rakesh Verma, Taran Pal Singh, Pushap Thakur, Manmohan Sharma, Ankit Sharma and Maninder Singh.
