JAMMU, May 26: Players continue to sweat for top honours in the ongoing Inter Zone District Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at different places.
JAMMU: Satwari Zone registered emphatic 8 wickets win over Bhalwal Zone and bagged the title trophy of the Inter Zone District Level Cricket Tournament, played at GHS Jammu Cantt.
KATHUA: Inter Zone District Level Tournament in the discipline of swimming for under-14 boys and girls held here today.
In under-17 free style (boys), Rajeev Singh of Sallan stood first and Rahul Kumar of Kathua bagged second position in 50 meters, whereas in 100 meters, Rajeev Singh of Sallan secured first position and Bharat Bhushan of Marheen clinched second position.
In under-17 back stroke (boys), Sarjeewan Kumar of Kathua stood first and Ajay Kumar of Hiranagar bagged second position in 50 meters, whereas in 100 meters, Sarjeewan Kumar of Kathua clinched first position and Shivam Bhagat of Barnoti bagged second position.
In under-17 breast stroke (boys), Nitish Sharma of Barnoti secured first position and Gopi of Kathua bagged second position in 50 and 100 meters.
In under-17 butterfly stroke (boys), Sarjeewan Kumar of Kathua bagged first position and Surjeet Singh of Lakhanpur clinched second position in 50 and 100 meters.
In under-14 free style (boys), Bhushan Singh of Banoti bagged first position and Rajesh of Sallan secured second position in 50 meters, whereas in 100 meters, Shivdeep Singh of Barnoti bagged first position and Amit of Hiranagar bagged second position.
In under-14 back stroke (boys), Nikhil Singh of Sallan secured first and Sharwan Kumar of Hiranagar secured second positions in 50 and 100 meters.
In under-14 free style (girls), Sheetal of Barnoti bagged first position and Komal of Hiranagar cinched second position in 50 and 100 meters.
SAMBA: Inter Zonal District Level Football Competition for under-17 boys was held at Maharaja Suchet Singh Stadium Arazi, here.
In the final match, Vijaypur Zone crushed Samba Zone by 3-1.
RAMBAN: Inter-School District Level Competitions for boys and girls were held at District Police Line, here.
In under-19 Kabaddi final (boys), GHSS Rajgarh beat GHSS Ukhral in a close contest by 2 points, whereas in girls category final, GHSS Ramban defeated GHSS Banihal by 14 points.
In under-19 Kho-Kho final (boys), GHSS Banihal beat GHSS Ramban by 2 points, whereas in girls category final, GHSS Banihal beat GHSS Ramban by 5 points.
In under-19 Volleyball final, GHSS Neel defeated GHSS Ukhral by 2-0 sets.
