VIJAYPUR, Dec 30: Former Minister and Senior State Vice President National Conference, Surjeet Singh Slathia today lauded the crucial role of public schools in supplementing quality education and called for massive outreach to achieve the objective of placing youngsters in good stead in the present day competitive world.
“Grooming young minds is a crucial challenge, not only for teachers but also for the managements, which have to generate such an environs in educational institutions where youngsters can grow in harmony”, he said while addressing students, parents and faculty of the Gandhi Memorial Educational Institute at Dabuj Kak in the Vijaypur Assembly Constituency.
Slathia, who was the chief guest at the 25th Annual Day function of the Institute appreciated growing public-private partnership in expansion of education and hoped that youngsters will benefit from educational facilities at their doorsteps.
Saying annual day function is a special occasion for students and their parents, Mr Slathia exuded confidence that these events will prove beneficial for the young people to demonstrate their talent in various activities. He referred to the participation of young children in various disciplines and said extra-curricular activities are imperative for overall growth and personality development of students. He advised them to concentrate on sports alongside academics as it is necessary for sharpening their capabilities.
On the occasion, Principal of the Institute, Raghubir Singh presented annual report, listing achievements registered in academics and other fields.
Besides the faculty and parents, prominent citizens of the area including Ex Sarpanch Bhagwan Dass were present on the annual day function.
