JAMMU, Oct 21: Two days Northern Command Army Public Schools Basketball Tournament hosted by APS Akhnoor concluded today.
In the tournament, the participating teams were APS Dhar Road, APS Udhampur, APS Nagrota, APS Rakhmuthi and APS Akhnoor.
Colonel CS Sharma was chief guest on the occasion, who was received by Principal KCS Mehta and Maj Kaustubh Tyagi. Colonel CS Sharma interacted with all teams and wished them all the best and declared the meet open. Brigadier Rajendra Joshi, Chairman of APS Akhnoor had sent his best wishes to all teams.
Four teams which played semifinals in boys were APS Dhar Road and APS Akhnoor and APS Udhampur and APS Rakhmuthi, whereas in girls section, the semis were played between APS Ahhnoor and APS Udhampur and APS Dhar Road and APS Rakhmuthi. The teams, which entered the finals in boys section, were APS Akhnoor and APS Udhampur and in girls section were APS Udhampur and APS Rakhmuthi.
In girls’ category final match, APS Udhampur defeated APS Rakhmuthi and clinched the first position, whereas in boys section APS Akhnoor defeated APS Udhampur by 52-24 points and claimed the first position in the tournament. In girls, best player of tournament award was given to Kartika of APS Udhampur and in boys, best player of tournament award was presented to Rohit of APS Akhnoor.
