JAMMU, Oct 13: Two wickets haul and 67 runs knock by Amritpal helped Friends Cricket Club (FCC) to smash Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) and register berth in the next stage of the ongoing Sikh Premier League, being organized by Khalsa Club at Baba Jhulla Camp, Gole Gujral, Talab Tillo, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, YSCC set a target of 158 runs by losing 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Narinder played a splendid inning of 71 runs, while Jarnail and Jagandeep chipped in 24 and 22 runs respectively.
From FCC side, Amritpal scalped 2 wickets by giving 22 runs in 4 overs, while Sukhvinder also took 2 wickets by conceding 25 runs in 4 overs and Amarpreet clinched one wicket by giving 30 runs in 4 overs.
In the second inning, FCC chased the target by losing 9 wickets in 19.2 overs. Amritpal chipped in some crispy shots and made 67 runs, while Sikhwinder and Mankaran scored 24 and 14 runs respectively.
From YSCC side, Narinder took 2 wickets by conceding 30 runs in 4 overs, while Navdeep also scalped 2 wickets by giving 27 runs in 4 overs and Amandeep clinched one wicket by giving 29 runs in 4 overs.
Amritpal of FCC was adjudged as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
The match was officiated by Karanjeet Singh and Gurpreet Singh as umpires, while Surinder Singh acted as scorers.
On the occasion, Trilochan Singh Wazir was the chief guest, who awarded the winner team and asked the youth to participate in sports as its play pivotal role for the overall development of the body.
