JAMMU, July 26: Sourav Gupta, a student of Vishwa Bharti Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur Morh, Udheywala, Jammu, brought laurels to the school and the J&K State by winning a bronze medal in International Karate Championship organized recently in Amirtsar (Punjab).
About 150 participants from Nepal, Butan, Burma, Malasiya and 16 participants from J&K participated in the Championship, organized by Okinawa Gojuryu Karatedo Kugekai Association, India.
School Principal, Prof Annapurna Koul presented the winning medal to Sourav Gupta in a specially arranged school assembly in the presence of his Coach Nihal Sharma and sports teacher of the school, Joginder Singh.
