Athletes show promise in 42nd Inter-Collegiate Annual Athletic Meet

JAMMU, Feb 12: Athletes showed promise on the 2nd day of the 42nd Inter-Collegiate Annual Athletic Meet (M &W) 2015-16 at University Sports Stadium, Near Gymnasium Hall, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
BK Magotra, retired Director Sports was the chief guest and distributed the medals among the winners on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were HS Chib, Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Ajaz Malik,  Sumenesh Sharma, Narayani Jamwal,  Balbir Singh Chib,  Sudesh Bhagat,  Neelam Clalotra,  Pardeep Kumar, Rakesh Puri, Tanvir Ahmed, Ravinder Singh, Sarveshwar Pathania, Sheetal, Sonu Kumari, Sandeep Sharma, Anil Sharma, Dr. Brij Baloria,  Romesh Sharma, Ravish Vaid,   Gagan Kumar, Vikas Karlopia, P D Singh and Jai Bharat.

Hammer Throw (Men): 1st -Satinder Singh, PG Department; 2nd -Rahul Sabharwal, GGM Science College and 3rd -Rajat, SPMR College of Commerce.
800 Mtrs (Men): 1st -Yashpal Tinku, SPMR College of Commerce; 2nd -Hardesh Singh, PG Department and 3rd -Amit Kumar, SPMR College of Commerce.
Discus Throw (Women): 1st -Manju Saloniga, GCW Gandhi Nagar; 2nd -Pinki Kumari, GCW Udhampur and 3rd -Rakshanda Sharma, GCW, Gandhi.
Discuss Throw (Men): 1st -Sanjeev Sharma, PG Department; 2nd -Rahul Saberwal, GGM Science College  and 3rd -Satinder Singh, PG Department.
Tripple Jump (Women): 1st -Richa Mandla, GCW Parade; 2nd-Ripu Devi, GDC Samba and 3rd -Matali Manhas, GCW Gandhi Nagar.
Tripple Jump (Men): 1st -Ankush Saini, PG Department; 2nd -Rakesh Singh, GDC Hiranagar and 3rd-Anish Sangra, GDC Hiranagar.
400 Mtrs. (Men): 1st -Rajan Sharma, GGM Science College; 2nd -Amit Kumar, SPMR College of Commerce and 3rd -Neeraj Sharma, GDC Akhnoor.
400 Mtrs (Women):1st -Jabul, GCW Parade; 2nd -Ekta Devi, GDC Akhnoor and 3rd -Kajal Langeh, GCW Parade.
4×100 Mtrs. (Men): 1st -Arjun, Amit, Aditya, Mohd. Ishtaq, SPMR College of Commerce; 2nd-Ankush, Dharampal, Gagandeep, Sanjeev, PG Department and 3rd-Rajan, Vishal, Rahul, Amit, GGM Science College.
The events were officiated by  Nirmal Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Vinay Manhas, Amit Sharma,  Rakesh Kumar and Gagan Kumar.
The Athletic Meet is being held under the overall supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
