Ajay, Mohit bag 1st positions in symposium, slogan writing competition

UDHAMPUR, Dec 9: To acquaint the general public especially the youth about the cleanliness, an inter school symposium and slogan writing competition was organized by Rural Development Department Udhampur on the theme “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (SBA) in the premises of
Higher Secondary School, Jaganoo here today. District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC complemented the staff members of different schools for better preparation of students for the contests.
DDC called upon the people especially the youth to recall their duties for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in and around their surroundings. He urged upon the students to spread the message of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and appealed the people to avail the benefits of schemes of RDD for the construction of toilet facilities in their houses.
As many as 14 students of seven education institutions participated in the symposium contest.
Ajay Kumar of Govt High School Darsoo stood first in the symposium contest while Ansh Singh of Govt High School Satani and Ajay Sadotra of GHSS Jaganoo remained second and third respectively in the contest.
Besides Shipali Devi of Govt. High School Darsoo and Rashi Thakur of GHS Jaganoo were also given consolation prizes.
Similarly, In slogan writing competition, Mohit of GHS Basan, Ganesh Verma of GHSS Jaganoo and Shubham Sharma of GHS Satani stood first, second and third respectively while Sahil Sharma of GHS Satani clinched consolation prize in the competition.
