JAMMU, Dec 5: Brilliant knock of 100 runs by Jatin Wadhawan helped Chander Shekhar Azad Cricket Club (CSACC) beat their rivals convincingly to enter the finals of the North Zone in the T20 Cricket Tournament, Under the banner of BJYM and Khelega Yuva Jeetaga Bharat, here.
CSACC scored a decent total of 183 runs. Jatin was the top scorer with100 runs, which fetched him man of the match award. Anil Kumar, captain of CSACC was awarded with a winning trophy by the chief guest. Vivek Sharma, Siddhant Bagal and Puneet also gave valuable contributions.
Punjab team, in reply failed to chase the target and lost the match with a big margin.
BJP General Secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul graced the occasion with his presence. Speaker J&K Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion, while Senior BJP leaders Munish Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi, District president BJP, Baldev Billowria and BJYM Parbhari Ashok Chauhan were the guests of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta congratulated both the teams who played the sport with sportsman spirit. He said that organizing such tournaments gives opportunities to young and budding players to display their talent and it also helps them in improving their ability to play the sport.
He further said that by organizing such mega event BJYM has provided youth with a great platform and in future such events will be organized again so that more and more teams could participate in it.
Meanwhile, programme in-charge Ajay Pargal and co n-charge Karan Sharma disclosed that CSACC, the qualifying team will be selected for Zonal Tournament which will be played in upcoming forthcoming North Zone event.
