JAMMU, Dec 3: Four days 12th J&K State Wushu Championship got underway, here today.
Players drawn from 16 districts of the State are taking part in this Championship.
Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh was the chief guest on the inaugural function, while IGP H K Lohia, president Wushu Association of J&K, Secretary J&K State Sports Council Javed Shah, Jt Secretary Shiv Kumar, Ranjeet Kalra, Deepak Handa and Vijay Saraf were the special guests on the occasion.
Yuvraj Vikramaditya congratulated Bhanu Pratap Singh, Rajinder Singh, Kamal Kishore and their coach Kuldeep Handoo for making the State and the Country proud by winning medals at International Level.
He assured full support to the Association for hard work in making the Wushu sports a priority sports in J&K.
H K Lohia thanked the dignitaries and the participants present on the occasion for making the event a grand successful.
Earlier, Ranjeet Kalra presented welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the Wushu at the National and International levels.
Meanwhile, in Under-5 boys below 15 kg, Yugveer Singh clinched gold, while Vinit bagged silver and the bronze medal was claimed by Krish.
In Under-5 boys below 18 years, Areeb Mushtaq won gold, Mohsin clinched silver, while the bronze was bagged by Ashish Sharma.
Kamran Ali claimed gold in Under-5 boys open category, while Zeeshan won silver and the bronze was clinched by Mitul Gupta.
In Under-7 boys 15 kg, Vasu and Munish won gold and silver medal respectively, while the bronze medal went to Sunny.
Irfan won gold medal in Under-7 boys 18 kg, while Neehal bagged silver and Krishna and Prince claimed bronze medal, while in Under-7 boys Sub Junior 24 kg, Aditya Tickoo got gold, Ridham bagged silver, while Atif won bronze.
