JAMMU, Sept 30: The Mountaineering Expedition team comprising of 18 members of Dogra Scouts was flagged in at Himyodha Military Station, Sumdo by Lieutenant General KJ Singh, Army Commander, Western Command, today.
The team led by Colonel SS Sharma scaled Mount Gya (6794 meters), the highest peak in Himachal Pradesh on September 8 and 9 2015 from the hitherto unexplored Lingti Valley route. The grueling expedition involved a trek of 150 km over a period of more than three weeks.
The Army Commander commended the achievement of the Dogra Scouts and encouraged them to undertake more such challenging tasks in the future too.
