Gandhi Nagar Club, Dashmesh register win over rivals, sail into next round

JAMMU, July 5: Gandhi Nagar Cricket Club (GNCC) and Dashmesh Cricket Club registered resounding win over rivals in their respective matches and sailed into next round of the ongoing Ist Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Gold Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Cantt Ground, Satwari.
In the first match of the day, Gandhi Nagar Cricket Club (GNCC) smashed Roshni Cricket Club (RCC) by 7 wickets.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, RCC scored 54 runs for all out in 11 overs, Bunty was the top scorer with 12 runs, whereas Ravi made 11 runs.
From GNCC side, Bhinder and Bunty scalped 4 wickets each, whileas Kaka took 1 wicket.
In reply, GNCC chased the target for the loss of just 3 wickets. Aman made 22 runs and Happy scored 16 runs.
From RCC side, Bunty took 2 wickets and Deepu claimed 1 wicket.
Bunty of GNCC was declared as man of the match.
The second match of the day was played between Dashmesh Cricket Club (DCC) and Bhatiya Cricket Academy (BCA), in which former registered win by 6 wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, BCA made 129 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Sachin was top scorer with 31 runs, whileas Ankush contributed with 27 runs.
From DCC side, Sukhu took 4 wickets, whereas Vicky scalped 2 wickets.
In the second inning, DCC chased the target and won the match by 6 wickets. Sukhu played splendid inning of 62 runs in 28 balls, whereas Bali made 40 runs in 29 balls.
From BCA side, Sanchit and Aakash took 2 wickets each.
Sukhu of DCC was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Manu, Surpreet Singh as umpires, whileas Aman Cheema maintained the scorecard.
