JAMMU, May 19: KC Public School won the British Council’s International School Award for the period of four years from 2015 to 2018.
The School got registered for the award in April 2014 and completed 7 projects on various themes selected on the basis of NCERT and CBSE curriculum content from a wide range of subjects.
The titles of these projects were ‘Taking Care of Earth’, ‘Heritage-Our Priceless Legacy’, ‘ Step up to Sustain Natural Resources’, ‘Stand up for Animal Rights’, ‘Celebrate Diversity’, ‘Poetry and its Forms’ and ‘Folk Tales from Around the World’.
The students of KC Public School completed these projects in collaboration with partner schools in England, Arjentina, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Oman and Malaysia.
A complete dossier on all these projects was submitted to the British Council in India and the award was conferred on the School after the approval of the dossier.
The assessors of the dossier made a special mention of the collaborative work done by the students of KC Public School and Skipton Girls School, North Yorkshire, UK.
During the academic year 2014-15, KC Public School and Skipton Girls High School worked together as global Partners under Connecting Classrooms Scheme of the British Council and shared two projects on Cookery and Climate Change through video presentation.
The Global Awareness Coordinator from Skipton High School, James Hoyle is currently on a four days exchange visit to KC Public School to determine fresh areas of exploration through collaborative project work during the current academic year 2015-16.
The chairman of the School, Sudershan Mahajan and Principal of the School, Amarendra Kumar Mishra congratulated the ISA team for their dedication and hard work.
