REASI, Apr 23: IRP 1st Battalion under Civic Action Programme distributed education related items among 70 poor and orphan students which included school bags, uniforms, school shoes and stationery items.
The programme was organized at Government Middle School Biagund Judda in Arnas.
On the occasion, SSP IRP 1st Batallian, T R Katoch was the chief guest.
DySP, Imtiaz Ahmad, Headmasters and staff of the various Government Schools, members of PRIs and a large number of local people were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Katoch informed that the civic action programme was launched by the JKP two decades back under which the police organization is providing adequate assistance to destitute, orphans and needy students in remote areas of the State.
He also urged upon the students to take part in co-curricular activities side by side studies for their overall personality development and exhorted upon the teaching fraternity to impart quality education to their pupils and inculcate a sense of discipline among them so that they can compete at national and international levels.
