IISM holds Ski Course at Gulmarg

GULMARG, Mar 3: Despite scarcity of snow, Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) Gulmarg held its Ski Course as per the schedule and completed the same here today.
Mohd Sultan Kaboo, Zonal Head North Kashmir of J&K Bank was the chief guest who gave away badges of success and prizes to the successful students.
Over 100 students drawn from various parts of the Country participated in this course. Among these 20 students were from Govt Medical Collage Srinagar.
Principal IISM, J S Dhillon welcomed the guests and briefed them about the various activities being undertaken by the Institute.
He said the objective of the Course is to involve more and more youth in sporting activities to help them not to derail from the mainstream, rather not to fall prey to drug addiction.
He further said skiing courses are very expensive but IISM gives huge subsidy to the students so that all sections of the society could afford such courses.
Mohd Sultan Kaboo, Zonal Head J&K Bank, North Kashmir gave away the prizes to the outstanding students of the course.
He told that J&K Bank is pioneer to discharge its corporate social responsibility by helping such sports and its athletes to enhance their performance at the National and International levels.
“Mr. Dhillon is also President of Winter Games Federation of India (WGFI) who can help the State by organizing various national events in Gulmarg. Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering (IISM) is the pioneer Institute of Asia which provides state of the art adventure training with modern facilities,” Kaboo said.
