RAJOURI, Feb 22: Himalayan Education Mission Society celebrated 35th annual day of Himalayan School Rajouri and 11th Annual Day of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri.
The programme was chaired by Dr Haseeb Mughal, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Mohammad Saleem Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner presided over the function. Dr JA Qazi Principal GDC Rajouri, Prof SH Shah Principal GDC Mendhar, Prof MA Lone Principal GDC Surankote, Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina Principal Government Degree College Budhal and Dr Basharat Hussain Asstt Commissioner Development were the guests of honour. Besides this a myriad of people from cross section of society including academicians, bureaucrats, socio-educational activists, parents, teachers and students attended this mega event.
The colourful, thematic and spectacular stage performances including skits, songs and thought provoking messages invited huge applause from the jubilant audiences.
Umpteen awards in both academic and extra-scholastic areas were presented to the students who exhibited outstanding performances during the last academic session at District, State and National Level competitions. The highest ranked award Himalayan Paragon of the year were clinched by Mohammad Ibrar, Razaaq Ahmed, Bushra Fatima and Nevadita Gupta in School Category and Uzma Saleem Malik, Minakashi Sharma, Kushal Gupta and Raghav Gupta in College Category besides more than 131 brighter students bagged medals, citations and mementoes.
On the occasion, Himalayan Civil Services Aspirants Club was also constituted with an objective to involve the brighter and younger lot in for substantial preparation and guidance from the experts to qualify the prestigious exam.
The annual report was presented by Aalia Iqbal whereas Muskhan Farooq, Chakshu Gupta, Saral Sabha and Utkarsh Sharma conducted the proceeding.
Among others present were Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Khurshid Bismal, Iqbal Shawl, Manzar Khayyam, Prof Musaraf Shah, Subash Gupta, Azam Shah, Molvi Lalu Din, Sarvarkar Singh, Nazeer Qureshi, MN Qureshi and Lovely Gupta.
