Carmel Convent organizes Marathon

JAMMU, Feb 13:Carmel Convent High School organized a race “Carmel Marathon”, today.
Around 500 students from class 4th to 9th were guided and animated by teachers Dheeraj Jamwal and Nayna Bamotra. The marathon “Carmel Ki Daurh: Swachhata Ki Aur” was flagged off by Haji Mirza Hussain, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, while Rupali Salathia, cricket coach and Nippu Jamwal, International Judo player were the guests of honour. School principal Maria Suzette was also present on the occasion.
The four km run was to herald the message of cleanliness and sportsmanship to inculcate healthy habits which is the pre-requirement for progress of the society.
The prize winners were Riya Gupta, Palak Saini, Navya Gupta, Harseerat Kour and Manta Sharma. Harseerat Kour was declared the overall athlete of the Marathon 2015.
