J&K Fencing team to compete in U-17 National C’ship

JAMMU, May 20: The Fencing Association of India will organize the 21st Cadet (Under-17) National Fencing Championship (Boys & Girls) 2026–27 from May 23 to May 28 at Rudrapur.
A 24-member team of the J&K Fencing Association, comprising 12 boys and 12 girls, will represent the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir in this prestigious national event.
The team will be accompanied by coaches Maninder Pal Singh and Rahul Prashar. President Vijay Kumar and Secretary General Supriya Chouhan extended their best wishes to the young fencers for their participation at the national level.
Former international fencer and referee Rashid Ahmed Choudhary, along with sports promoter Adarsh Slathia lauded the selected athletes and wished them success in the championship.
The boys’ squad includes Tanmay Dogra, Ridhiman Sharma, Varchasv Vishal, Daksh Verma (Epee); Udyan Waraich, Raghav Choudhary, Kanishk Khajuria, Rohan Prashar (Foil); Vansh Raina, Harnidh Singh, Dev Karan Singh Jamwal, Vinayak Sharma (Sabre). The girls’ squad includes Tanishka, Banshika Verma, Sharanya Sarnyal, Utkarsha Sharma (Epee); Ashwathie Sharma, Kawaldeep Kour, Mayra Rajput, Devika Sharma (Foil); Eknoor Kour, Aahana Gupta, Sabrena Choudhary and Antalya Jamwal (Sabre). The team carries high hopes of delivering strong performances in the championship.
