JAMMU, May 20: The Border Security Force (BSF) will organise the BSF Jammu Region Lawn Tennis Spandan League 2026 from May 21 to May 24 at MA Stadium and SHQ BSF Indreshwar Nagar, Jammu, under the Khelo India initiative.
The tournament is being conducted in association with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and the Jammu and Kashmir Lawn Tennis Association (JKLTA). The event will be inaugurated by Inspector General BSF Jammu, Shashank Anand, at 8:30 am.
The four-day event will feature 156 players across various age groups and categories, reflecting the growing popularity of lawn tennis in the region. Organisers said the tournament aims to promote sports culture, fitness, and competitive spirit among youth and senior players while providing a platform for emerging talent.
Competitions will be held in Under-18, Open Singles, Open Doubles, Senior Veterans, Senior Doubles, and Women Open Singles categories. The Open Singles category has the highest participation with 60 players, followed by 44 in Under-18, 23 teams in Open Doubles, 12 players in Women Open Singles, 11 in Senior Above-50, and six teams in Senior Doubles.
