RAJOURI, May 20: The grand finale of the Rajouri Football League 2026, organised by the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, concluded at the university football ground under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan. The event aimed at promoting a healthy, disciplined and drug-free society through sports activities.
The final witnessed an exciting clash between Rajouri Young Football Club and BGSBU Eagles, with Rajouri Young FC emerging victorious by 4-2 to lift the championship trophy. Ali Raza starred for the winning side by scoring three goals, while Adnan Gayas netted two goals for BGSBU Eagles, keeping the match competitive and entertaining for spectators.
Major General Kaushik Mukherjee, GOC, Ace of Spades Division attended the event as the chief guest, while Vice Chancellor Jawaid Iqbal was the guest of honour. Faculty members, university officers, students and sports enthusiasts were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal congratulated both teams for their sportsmanship and highlighted the role of sports in promoting discipline, fitness, leadership and mental well-being among youth. Major General Mukherjee appreciated the talent and determination displayed by the players and encouraged greater participation in sports.
The tournament was organised under the leadership of Rakesh Singh Sambyal and Dr. Naseem Gul, while Dr Aasim Mir supervised the final match. Dr Tanvir Ahmed conducted the proceedings with support from Amit Nagar.
