7-A-side Night Hockey Tourney

JAMMU, May 15: In a thrilling semi-final clash of the ongoing Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji 7-A-Side Night Hockey Tournament 2026, Khalsa Club Gol Gujral delivered an impressive performance to defeat Shahid Bhagat Singh Hockey Club by 4-1 and secure a place in the final. The match, played in a highly competitive yet sporting atmosphere, drew a large crowd of hockey enthusiasts and local youth who cheered both teams throughout the game.
The tournament is being organised by Khalsa Club Gol Gujral under the aegis of Hockey Jammu & Kashmir and the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council. It has emerged as an important platform for promoting hockey and encouraging youth participation in sports activities across the region.
Balvinder Singh, Vice President, District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu, attended the match as the chief guest. He appreciated the organisers for promoting sports culture and highlighted the importance of such tournaments in engaging youth in healthy and disciplined activities.
The second semi-final of the tournament will be played tomorrow between Sahil Hockey Club Gol Gujral and Bandu Rakh Hockey Club, starting at 7:00 pm.
The organising committee includes Iqbal Singh (Chief Patron), MS Reen (General Secretary), Satvir Singh Satti (President), Harkirat Singh, Harpreet Singh, Harjit Singh, Surinder Singh, Goldi, Inderpal Singh, and Karamjit Singh.
Prominent persons present on the occasion included Harmohinder Singh (Dy Director), Manjit Singh (Social Worker), Padamdev Singh (Veteran Hockey Player), PP Singh (ex-Sarpanch), Ranjit Singh (President Gurdwara), Rajinder Singh Soodan, Janak Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Ajit Singh (Veteran Hockey Player), Sharanjeet Singh Shanti, Karamveer Singh (Australia), Gurdeep Singh (New Zealand) and Satinder Pal Singh Banto.
