JAMMU, May 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Sub Junior Roll Ball Team has been flagged off to participate in the 3rd North Zone Roll Ball Championship, scheduled to be held in Shimla from May 15 to 17.
The 30-member contingent, comprising both boys and girls teams, will represent the Union Territory at the regional sporting event, showcasing their skills and competitive spirit at the national level.
The team is being led by chief coach Ashraf Dijoo. The flag-off ceremony witnessed enthusiasm among players, parents and officials, who expressed gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and the Roll Ball Association of Jammu and Kashmir for their continuous support in promoting emerging sports talent across the region. Officials highlighted that such initiatives are instrumental in providing young athletes with opportunities to gain exposure at higher levels of competition and build their sporting careers.
The Girls team is led by Captain Meera Verma and includes players Khevna Gupta, Ashwika Srivastava, Arshita Singh, Harshita Saini, Dhwani Nanda, Aarna Verma, Zunaira Shah, Uswa Zahroor, Aisha Wani and Anayah Ali Haji. The team is supported by Coach Rimpu Sharma and Manager Shruti Srivastava.
The Boys team is captained by Divaynsh Kandroo and features players Vivaan Sharma, Shivansh Khajuria, Mohd Iltifat, Yuvan Gandotra, Astitva Choudhary, Gurusis Singh, Ansh Srikul, Mohd Ayaan, Armaan Tahri, Asrar Rather and Sheikh Ahamad Sajad. The squad is guided by Coach Sameer Gupta, Manager Jasbir Saini and Technical Head Manvijay Singh Slathia. The contingent is expected to deliver strong performances in the championship, reflecting the growing standard of Roll Ball in Jammu and Kashmir.
