JAMMU, May 8: To spread awareness about hygiene and infection prevention, Jodhamal Public School observed World Hand Hygiene Day 2026 with an awareness programme organized in collaboration with Narayana Super Specialty Hospital and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence.
Dr Beena Jad, National Infection Control Professional and Assistant Professor (Microbiology), addressed the students and highlighted the importance of Infection Prevention and Control practices along with the WHO’s “5 Moments of Hand Hygiene.”
Adding a practical component, Infection Control Nurse Lovika Mahajan conducted hands-on training and live demonstrations on proper hand washing and sanitization techniques.
The awareness initiative was also supported by Rajinder Singh Sodhi and Surinder Bhat, Deputy Managers at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital. Trustees Nandan Kuthiala and Arati Kuthiala appreciated the programme, while Principal Amita Arora stressed the importance of simple hygiene habits in ensuring overall well-being. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Director Deep Khare.
