JAMMU, Mar 22: Viraj Kala Kendra, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, organized “Unlock Your Talent – Season 2” at the Senior Citizens Support Services Club, Chowadhi, showcasing the talents of students while promoting the Dogri language. The event featured competitions in singing, acting, dancing, debate and joke-telling, attracting around 70 enthusiastic participants from various schools.
In the Debate category, Sanjana Rajput of SIRAS School Bishnah and Danish Thakur of Higher Secondary School, Khanna Chhargal shared first prize, while Ritika Lalotra (Jammu Sanskriti School) and Amrita Chib (Modern Public High School) secured joint second positions. Ishika Mehra (SIRAS School Bishnah) won third prize, and Radha Lakhotra (SIRAS School Bishnah) and Jigar Pounghotra (Jammu Sanskriti School) received consolation prizes.
In Joke-Telling, Amanjit Verma (Higher Secondary School) won third prize, while Nitaant Pansotra (Jammu Sanskriti School) received consolation. In Singing, Shruti (Jammu Sanskriti School) secured first prize, followed by Varun Bhagat (second), Manvi Bhagat (Modern Public High School, third) and Himanshu Kumar (SIRAS School Bishnah, consolation). In Acting, Sumer Singh Saroch (Jammu Sanskriti School) won first prize, Danish Thakur second and Amanjit Verma third. Dance winners included Harshita Gupta (first), Mannat Bhau (Govt. Higher Secondary School, Paloura, second), Akshra Paroch (Modern Public High School, third), and Avni Kaith (Jammu Sanskriti School, consolation). Special group dance performances by Ved Mandir Complex students were also recognized.
The event was graced by Dr. Kasturi Lal Gupta, Chairperson, Senior Citizens Support Services Club and Padmashree SP Verma as chief guests. It was organized under the guidance of playwright Rajneesh Gupta, with jury members Rajneesh Gupta, Meera Tapasvi, Rishab Manhas, Tarun Charak, Dr. Meetu Meenia, and Amit Bhalla. Coordination was handled by Yuvraj Gupta, with proceedings conducted by Pushpa Bharti, Retd. Headmistress.
