JAMMU, Mar 20: Jammu and Kashmir pacer Bismah Hassan and left-arm spinner Preeti R. Bose delivered a stunning bowling performance to bundle out North East Zone for just 102 runs in the Senior Women’s Inter-zonal Multi-Day Trophy at CAP Ground-3, Puducherry here today.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, North East Zone struggled against a disciplined North Zone attack. Kalpana top-scored with 27 runs, while Nijmeen Khatun (22) and Nabum Yapu (15) made modest contributions.
Preeti R. Bose was the standout performer, claiming a brilliant 5/21 in 25.4 overs, dismantling the opposition with her spin. Bismah Hassan provided crucial breakthroughs with figures of 2/12, while Sushmita H Kumari (2/18) and Manat Kashyap (1 wicket) chipped in effectively.
In reply, North Zone reached 12/0 at stumps on Day 1, with Pragya Rawat (5*) and Priya Punia (7*) at the crease, firmly in control of the match.
