JAMMU, Mar 18: The Jammu Veteran League Edition 2 Anti-Drug Cricket Tournament was organized by Samvedna Club at MA Stadium today under the impactful slogan “Yes to Sports, No to Drugs.” The opening ceremony was graced by MLA, Jammu West Arvind Gupta as the chief guest, who was accompanied by SP North Vivek Shekhar, former councillor Sanjay Kumar Baru, Prem Gupta, and Vikas Hans.
The chief guest, MLA Arvind Gupta, appreciated the initiative by Samvedna Club and said that such tournaments play a crucial role in channelizing the energy of youth towards positive activities.
SP North Vivek Shekhar stated that drug abuse remains a serious challenge, stressing that collective efforts from families, institutions, and the community are required to tackle it.
Chairman of the club, Keshav Chopra, in his address, reiterated his commitment to the cause and highlighted the vision behind organizing the tournament. He said that the initiative aims to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse while promoting a culture of fitness and positivity.
The tournament also saw the presence of Ex Sarpanch Raj Kumar Sharma, Atul Bakshi, Rohit Gupta, Manohar Lal Gupta, Vishal, Nipun Malhotra, Vikas Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Raman and others.
