KATHUA, Feb 26: International cross-country skier Aman Kumar from Nagri Parole, Kathua, clinched the silver medal in the 6th Khelo India Winter Games, which concluded today at Gulmarg, Kashmir.
Serving with the Indian Army and training at the Gulmarg peaks, Aman, a resident of Daralan village, competed in the 10 km Nordic Cross-Country skiing event in the open category. The competition saw 35 skiers from across India vying for top honours.
Aman, 23 year old, had earlier represented India at the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, where he contested in the 4×7.5 km relay. His latest achievement adds to his growing list of accolades and underscores his dedication to winter sports, putting Jammu & Kashmir on the national skiing map.
