JAMMU, Jan 30: The U-14 Boys’ Interschool Football Tournament was inaugurated today with an enthusiastic and well-organised opening ceremony, setting the tone for an exciting celebration of young talent, teamwork and sportsmanship. The event witnessed active participation from various schools across Jammu, creating a lively and competitive atmosphere on the field.
All participating teams were formally introduced and received encouraging applause from the audience, boosting the confidence and morale of the budding footballers.
Addressing the gathering, School Principal Aparana Kohli emphasised the vital role of sports in the holistic development of students. She encouraged the players to compete with discipline, fairness and true sportsman spirit, while extending her best wishes to all teams for a successful tournament.
Following the inaugural proceedings, the tournament got underway with a series of matches displaying skill, enthusiasm and competitive zeal. In the opening match, RM Public School defeated Heritage School. Army Public School Akhnoor emerged victorious against Cambridge International School, while Jammu Sanskrit School also registered a win in their fixture. The final match of the day was played between JP World School and Jodhamal Public School, with JP World School securing a well-earned victory.
