UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: Renowned ultra-runner Kumar Ajwani (65) began a special ultra run from Police Martyr Chowk, Udhampur to Chandigarh as a heartfelt tribute to veterans, both fallen and living. The run was flagged off by Brig NK Khajuria (Retd), J&K Ex-Services League and NK Dalbir Singh Bhatyal, Vice-President, Indian Ex-Services League and Jammu & Kashmir Ex-Services League.
The tribute run witnessed enthusiastic participation from Ex-Servicemen (ESMs), personnel of the J&K Police Force and students of Buland Academy, Udhampur, led by Coach NK Yash Pal Commando. Prominent participants included Sub Maj Karnail Singh, Capt Yog Raj Singh, Capt Mohd Iqwal (Sena Medal), Nb Sub Kuldip Singh, Nb Sub Tara Singh, NK Sanjay Kumar, Sub Jeevan Singh, Sub Varinder Kumar, Sub Sanjeev Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Capt Ali Mohd Khan.
Ajwani’s ultra run symbolizes the indomitable spirit of the armed forces and pays homage to their courage, discipline and sacrifice. The event resonated with the powerful message “Once a Soldier, Always a Soldier,” reaffirming the enduring legacy and service of veterans. The run will culminate in Chandigarh, marking a symbolic journey of honour and remembrance.
