JAMMU, Dec 23: The Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory Table Tennis Championship entered its penultimate day with thrilling matches and exceptional performances across various categories.
The day’s highlights were the finals in the Under 13 and Under 15 boys categories. In the Under 13 final, Ahaan Anand defeated Saiyam Nischal in a closely contested match by 3-2 to clinch the title. However, Saiyam took sweet revenge in the Under 15 boys final, dominating from start to finish and defeating Ahaan by 3-0 to secure the championship.
In other boys’ categories, Akshaj Garg regained supremacy in the Under 11 final by defeating Satvik Nischal by 3-1. In the girls’ Under 19 and women’s categories, Nitya, Arushika, Myrah, and Mishthi advanced to the semifinals, showcasing strong performances.
Other notable results included Under 13 boys’ semifinals: Ahaan beat Samar by 3-1, Saiyam beat Aadvik by 3-0; Under 15 boys’ semifinals: Ahaan beat Adnan by 3-2, Saiyam beat Samar by 3-0 and Under 15 girls’ final: Myrah beat Syrah by 3-1.
The Championship was attended by Ajay Sharma, Arshi Nad (Manager Indoor Sports Complex), Satbir Singh, IP Singh, Saleem Bandey, Rajan Sharma, Menu Rajesh, Maninder Singh, Narinder Singh, Vasu Dewan, Sheetal Gandotra, Gurvinder Singh Sasan (NIS Table Tennis Coach), and Asad Sharma (NIS Table Tennis Coach).
