Inter-Battalion, Inter-Zone Sports Meet of J&K Police concludes

JAMMU, Dec 13: The Inter-Battalion and Inter-Zone Sports Meet of Jammu and Kashmir Police concluded today with a vibrant and well-attended closing ceremony at Gulshan Ground, marking the successful culmination of a major sporting extravaganza.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and intense competition, underscoring the strong sports culture within the J&K Police. The closing ceremony was held with great zeal and enthusiasm. Teams representing various battalions and zones demonstrated exceptional athletic ability, discipline, teamwork, and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Anand Jain, ADG Armed J&K Police, was the chief guest on the occasion. He was accorded a warm reception by the officers led by Vinod Kumar, DIG IR Jammu, along with other members of the organizing committee.
While addressing, Jain highlighted the vital role of sports in promoting physical endurance, camaraderie, and a healthy competitive spirit among J&K Police personnel.
In the Inter-Battalion segment, a total of 35 battalions participated, while six zones competed in the Inter-Zone events. IRP 14th Battalion emerged as the overall champion in the Inter-Battalion category, while as IRP 15th Battalion secured the runners-up trophy.
In the Inter-Zone competition, the Armed Zone was declared overall champions, while the Jammu Zone finished as runner-up. Faisal Qureshi, SSP Crime Branch EOW Jammu won gold medal in Carbine Shooting Championship.
During a ceremony, winners and runners-up across various sporting disciplines were felicitated with medals, trophies, and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances.
Among others who attended the presentation ceremony include, B S Tuti (IGP Jammu Zone), Vivek Gupta (IGP Railways J&K), Suliman Choudhary (IGP Traffic J&K), Sameer Sharma (DIG AP Jammu), Hari Prasad KK (AIG Welfare), Dalip Kumar (SSP, Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K), Commandants of Jammu-based battalions, Manoj Pandita (SSP, AIG Comn/Trg PHQ J&K) and Rajinder Singh (SSP APCR Jammu).
