JAMMU, Dec 5: The second day of the Asmita City Wushu Women’s League witnessed intense competition in the Sub-Junior Girls and Junior Boys & Girls categories as athletes vied for the yellow metal. Khelo India Centre, Bhagwati Nagar continues to lead the medal tally, while Academy of Wushu and Fighters Club Jammu remain in close contention. The Khelo India Wushu Centre is showcasing outstanding performances, reflecting its strong training and grassroots development.
Established by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and J&K Sports Council, Khelo India Centres have been producing athletes who excel nationally and internationally. Over 100 centres are operational across J&K, nurturing talent that has already made a mark on global platforms.
Simultaneously, the District Wushu Championship is underway, with Sub-Junior and Junior athletes competing for top honours. Tomorrow, the Junior and Senior categories will battle for medals, culminating in a closing ceremony at 4 pm where winners will be felicitated.
This marks the fourth edition of the Asmita Wushu City League for Women, following successful editions in Srinagar, Anantnag, and Bandipora. The Wushu Association of J&K has also submitted a bid to host the National Wushu League for Women in Jammu.
